Can I see an online doctor in Portugal without a family doctor or SNS user number?+
Yes. Kliniqa does not require a family doctor, SNS user number, or prior registration. Anyone in Portugal can book a consultation in Portuguese, English, or Spanish.
How much does an online medical consultation cost at Kliniqa?+
Prescription renewal and lab test requests €19, general consultation —, medical leave (CIT) —, urgent consultation —, urgent paediatrics —. Pay by card or MB Way, no app installation required.
Are prescriptions and medical certificates issued online legally valid in Portugal?+
Yes. Kliniqa's electronic prescriptions and certificates are issued by doctors registered with the Ordem dos Médicos and have full legal validity — accepted at any pharmacy and by official bodies (IMT, Social Security).
Can Kliniqa issue medical sick leave (CIT) online?+
Yes. A Kliniqa doctor issues the Temporary Incapacity Certificate (CIT) online for €45 and submits it directly to Social Security, with legal validity for your employer and for sickness benefit.
Are Kliniqa's doctors certified and is the platform regulated?+
Yes. All doctors are certified by the Ordem dos Médicos and Kliniqa is regulated by the Health Regulatory Authority (ERS, registration E182294).
Does Kliniqa offer consultations in English and Spanish?+
Yes. Consultations are available in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, 8am–10pm Lisbon time — ideal for expats, immigrants, and tourists anywhere in Portugal, including Madeira and the Azores.
How does an online consultation at Kliniqa work?+
Choose the consultation type and pay by card or MB Way. For scheduled visits, pick a time slot and join at that time. Urgent care is immediate: join the video call within 10 minutes of payment (8am–10pm; 10pm–8am carries a 40% nocturnity surcharge). No app needed. Afterwards, the doctor emails you the prescription, certificate, or lab request, all legally valid.
