Yes. If you already have a stable ongoing treatment with Wegovy (semaglutide), Ozempic, Mounjaro, Rybelsus or Saxenda, the doctor can renew your prescription in a 15-minute consultation after assessing your current condition.

This consultation (€19, 15 min) is for patients who already have an established, stable treatment and only need a prescription renewal. To start treatment with Wegovy, Mounjaro or any other medication for the first time, use the Weight Management Consultation (€60, 30 min).

Yes. The electronic prescription has legal validity throughout Portugal and is accepted at any pharmacy on the NHS system.

Yes. If you have been on a stable Wegovy dose and are moving to or visiting Portugal, a Kliniqa doctor can review your treatment and issue a Portuguese prescription that is valid at any pharmacy in Portugal. UK or other foreign prescriptions are not accepted at Portuguese pharmacies.

If your GP is overbooked, on holiday or you cannot get an appointment in time to renew essential chronic medication (antihypertensives, antidiabetics, thyroid drugs, anticoagulants), Kliniqa issues the renewal in 15 minutes for €19. The Portuguese electronic prescription is universal — it works at any pharmacy regardless of which doctor issued it.

Yes. The electronic prescription contains the dispensing code and right-of-option code required by Infarmed. At the pharmacy you give the code (or show the PDF/email on your phone) — no printing needed. Works at every pharmacy nationwide, including those covered by the SNS.

Drugs subject to special prescription (RE) — strong opioids, some benzodiazepines in certain situations, Schedule I psychotropics under Decree-Law 15/93 — require a paper (blue) prescription with in-person assessment. We also do not renew online drugs that have not yet been initiated (those need the appropriate initial specialty consultation).

Renewable prescriptions for chronic medication (antihypertensives, statins, antidiabetics, thyroid drugs) are valid for 6 months with several monthly dispensations allowed in that window. Non-renewable prescriptions (one-off use) are valid for 30 days. The doctor specifies the type at the time of issue.

Yes. SNS reimbursement depends on the active ingredient and the State-defined tier, not on which doctor prescribes — your Kliniqa prescription receives exactly the same reimbursement as one from your médico de família. For specific exemptions (chronic illness status) additional validation by the SNS GP may be required.
