Weight-management follow-up: when to book
What follow-up is for after the first assessment, what the doctor reviews, and why renewing a prescription is not a stand-alone act.
The weight-management follow-up consultation is for people who have already had the first assessment and are on treatment. It does not replace the initial consultation and is not for starting a plan from scratch.
The doctor reviews weight change, tolerance, effects, adherence and, when relevant, monitoring blood tests. If treatment remains appropriate, they may renew the electronic prescription valid in Portuguese pharmacies.
Early on, monthly visits are typical because many plans need stepwise adjustment. Once stable, the interval may widen. The clinical assessment sets the pace, not a marketing calendar.
If you have not had the first consultation, or you stopped treatment months ago and want to restart, go back to the initial assessment. Follow-up assumes a recent, known plan.
Bring your current weight, notes on effects (nausea, constipation, dizziness, extreme loss of appetite) and any tests done since. You do not need a perfect diary. You need useful information so the plan can be adjusted safely.

Frequently asked questions
Can I book follow-up without a first Kliniqa consultation?
Follow-up assumes a prior initial assessment. If the plan started in another country or with another doctor and you need continuity in Portugal, start with the first assessment.
Is the prescription always renewed at follow-up?
No. Only if treatment remains clinically appropriate and there are no new contraindications. Renewal is not automatic.
What if I want several consultations included from the start?
There is a starter pack with the assessment plus the first follow-ups, for people who will begin continuous follow-up.
